{"id":231066,"date":"2018-01-15T07:02:18","date_gmt":"2018-01-15T06:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/?p=231066"},"modified":"2024-02-02T11:40:40","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T11:40:40","slug":"complaints-about-the-flight-increased-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/en\/klagomalen-pa-flyget-okade-igen\/","title":{"rendered":"Complaints about the flight increased again."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/en\/2015\/06\/09\/flygplan-kan-snart-reparera-sig-sjalva-i-luften\/flygvinge_1205_2007\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-224807\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/flygvinge_1205_2007-450x295.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"295\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-224807\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Swedes&#039; complaints about flights increased for the third year in a row.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Delays, canceled flights and companies going bankrupt, but also more people finding out about their rights are some of the explanations.<\/p>\n<p>Complaints about air transport were by far the largest category received by the Swedish Consumer Agency, according to a compilation made by the agency&#039;s Consumer Europe department.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, 16.3 percent of the complaints received were directed at aviation. In 2016, the figure increased by more than four percentage points, and for 2017, the share is 30.4 percent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Problems for airlines<\/strong><br \/>\nSwedes complain next most about cars and motorcycles, including rental cars and car valuation services, 12.6 percent last year.<br \/>\nThere are a number of explanations for why aviation stands out so much, says Jolanda Girzl, director of Consumer Europe.<br \/>\n\u2013 What we can see is that consumers are finding information about delayed and cancelled flights on our website in a completely different way, and that more people are looking for tips on what to consider when using private compensation companies, she says.<\/p>\n<p>Individual events also have a significant impact. For example, when the hotel chain Low Cost Holiday went bankrupt in 2016, complaints in that category increased significantly.<br \/>\nIn 2017, many of the complaints concerned Air Berlin, but also Norwegian and Lufthansa.<br \/>\n\u2013 It was certain companies that had financial problems, bankruptcies or canceled flights that caused us to have this increase last year, says Jolanda Girzl.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Subscription traps<\/strong><br \/>\nComplaints about pharmaceutical products, such as medicines and herbal remedies, decreased to 5.9 percent in 2017 after having increased by more than five percentage points the year before.
