The investment will improve the experience and attract even more children and adults to get to know the Nordic children&#039;s book treasure together. Operations will be open as usual throughout the construction period, which starts in February 2018 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Junibacken will receive two extensions, one to the south and one to the east. The one to the east will be an extension of the current building and the extension to the south will tie in with Djurg\u00e5rden&#039;s maritime history and is inspired by the old wooden fishing huts that were originally located on the site. New indoor space will provide more space for play and theater, educational activities, temporary exhibitions and events. To better utilize Junibacken&#039;s fine location in spring and summer, a terrace will be built with a view of the Stockholm inlet. And new staff spaces will provide employees with an improved working environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 For us, children&#039;s play and experiences always come first and here we want to give them more and new exciting opportunities to get to know and encounter the Nordic children&#039;s book treasure together with parents and other adults.
