\nTillv\u00e4xtverket's full-year statistics for 2017 on the number of overnight stays in commercial accommodation in Sweden show that Dalarna remains strong as the fourth largest tourist region in terms of overnight stays.<\/p>\n

The SCB's annual figures for Dalarna show a decrease of just under 2 percent compared to 2016, where
\nOvernight stays by foreign visitors increased by +1%, whilst overnight stays by Swedish visitors fell by 2% compared with 2016.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The decline in Swedish overnight stays can be linked to the implementation of O-ringen in S\u00e4len in 2016, which generated approximately 125,000 overnight stays in cottages. No similar event to O-ringen was held during the summer of 2017, says Lotta Magnusson, Head of Strategic Development at Visit Dalarna.<\/p>\n

The increase from abroad is mainly from the Netherlands with an increase of +25,965 overnight stays.<\/p>\n
