Automation and digitalisation are high on Swedavia's and the airlines' agendas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The focus on self-service is based on travellers' wishes for faster, simpler, and smoother journeys, while also enhancing the overall experience of Swedavia's airports. Self-service also helps to reduce queues and optimise terminal space.<\/p>\n

This week, Stockholm Arlanda Airport is introducing automated entry gates in the main security checkpoint in Terminal 5. Last week, G\u00f6teborg Landvetter Airport had its first automated entry gate installed at a gate, and more will be put into use later. During the year, the introduction will also take place at additional Swedavia airports.<\/p>\n

Swedavia has previously installed check-in machines and automated baggage drop-off, and now has the most automated baggage drop-offs in the world.<\/p>\n

Travellers departing from \u00c5re \u00d6stersund Airport can leave their skis at the automated baggage drop. Check-in machines are also available at several hotels in \u00c5re, allowing travellers to print luggage tags and attach them to their bags before they even arrive at the airport. Combined with the ability to check in in advance, this simplifies the journey, and travellers only need to hand in their luggage when they reach the airport. This makes the trip home from the mountains smoother, which is appreciated by both leisure travellers and conference groups.<\/p>\n
