{"id":231801,"date":"2018-05-23T06:59:29","date_gmt":"2018-05-23T04:59:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/?p=231801"},"modified":"2024-02-02T11:41:51","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T11:41:51","slug":"new-zealand-info-new-tourist-tax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/en\/nya-zeeland-infor-ny-turistskatt\/","title":{"rendered":"New Zealand introduces new tourist tax"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The New Zealand Tourism Minister confirms \u2013 there will be a new tourism law for New Zealand.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It can affect flight prices \u2013 to and from the country.<\/p>\n<p>Last year alone, 3.7 million tourists visited New Zealand.<br \/>\nJust two decades ago, there were 500,000.<br \/>\nThis has put pressure on the infrastructure and now New Zealand wants to introduce a tourist tax.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reinvested in tourism<\/strong><br \/>\nAccording to New Zealand&#039;s Tourism Minister Kelvin Davis, the country will introduce a tourist tax in early 2019, writes the New Zealand newspaper Stuff.<br \/>\nThe tourist tax is expected to end at 25 New Zealand dollars, approximately 150 kronor.<br \/>\nFor each person, the impact will not be very large. However, the tourist tax is expected to bring in approximately 450 million kronor to the treasury. The money will be reinvested in tourism but without burdening local communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Added to the flight ticket<\/strong><br \/>\nHow the tourist tax will be levied has not yet been confirmed.<br \/>\n\u2013 We are looking at a number of different options, says Davids during a tourism conference.<br \/>\nHowever, according to the New Zealand Times, the tourist tax will likely be added to the airfare.<br \/>\nAmsterdam, Paris and New York already have a similar tax to deal with tourist congestion.<\/p>\n<p>Source: aftonbladet.se<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Turistministern p\u00e5 Nya Zeeland sl\u00e5r fast &#8211; det blir en ny turistlag till Nya Zeeland.
