\nCentral Park p\u00e5 Manhattan i New York har blivit officiellt bilfri.<\/strong><\/p>\n

P\u00e5 tisdagskv\u00e4llen samlades f\u00f6retr\u00e4dare f\u00f6r staden tillsammans med park- och cykelaktivister i en cykeltur bakom den sista bilen, som k\u00f6rde igenom parken klockan 19 lokal tid.
\n\u2013 I \u00f6ver hundra \u00e5r har vi gjort en av v\u00e4rldens mest ikoniska parker till en motorv\u00e4g \u2013 och med b\u00f6rjan i kv\u00e4ll, tar vi tillbaka den f\u00f6r alltid, s\u00e4ger stadens borgm\u00e4stare Bill de Blasio.<\/p>\n

Fram till nu har v\u00e4gar i parkens s\u00f6dra delar i den amerikanska m\u00e5ngmiljonstaden varit \u00f6ppna f\u00f6r bilar under rusningstid.
\nCentral Park har dagligen uppemot 250 000 bes\u00f6kare. Parken fyller 160 \u00e5r n\u00e4sta \u00e5r.
\nDet kommer \u00e4ven i forts\u00e4ttningen att vara m\u00f6jligt att k\u00f6ra igenom parken p\u00e5 n\u00e5gra best\u00e4mda st\u00e4llen.<\/p>\n
