\nGerman airline Lufthansa's shares are up almost 6 percent on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange after the company raised its forecast for ticket revenue for the rest of the year and reported stronger-than-expected results for the second quarter of the year.<\/p>\n

The company is getting a boost from stronger demand for domestic and transatlantic flights since competitor Air Berlin closed down operations last fall.<\/p>\n

Lufthansa now expects revenue per passenger to increase slightly during the year. Previously, the forecast was that ticket prices would be stable.<\/p>\n

Although an expensive expansion of the low-cost unit Eurowings is eating up a lot of profitability, Lufthansa is not adjusting its profit forecast for the full year.<\/p>\n

For the second quarter, Lufthansa reported an operating profit of 982 million euros, compared to the expected 942 million euros.<\/p>\n
