\nIn a generally weaker domestic aviation market, more and more people are choosing to fly with the domestic airline BRA. <\/strong><\/p>\n

During August, BRA increased by four percent compared to August 2017.<\/p>\n

The total number of people who flew domestically in Sweden during August 2018 decreased by approximately two percent compared to August 2017, according to the Swedish Transport Agency's latest figures.<\/p>\n

Data from Swedavia, which owns and operates many of the country's airports, also shows that the number of domestic air passengers in August via Arlanda decreased by approximately three percent. At the same time, the number of passengers via Bromma Airport increased by four percent, where BRA is the only domestic airline operator.<\/p>\n

BRA sees the fact that flights are running as they should, attractive prices, biofuel as an option when booking and traffic to most locations in the country via the newly renovated Bromma Airport as some of the success factors.<\/p>\n

At the same time, BRA continues to invest and during the autumn has started its new, permanent flight routes between Kristianstad-Bromma and J\u00f6nk\u00f6ping-Bromma and from October also Sundsvall-Gothenburg with direct flights.<\/p>\n

According to BRA, the general decline in domestic flights can largely be attributed to the new aviation tax, which makes it more expensive to fly domestically, even if the traveler chooses to fly with biofuel.<\/p>\n

The flight tax for a domestic round trip is SEK 127 per person including VAT. For flights, for example, round trip to the Canary Islands, the new flight tax cost is SEK 60 in total. This means that shorter flights, which generate fewer emissions, are taxed higher.<\/p>\n
