The Italian capital has decided to make several measures previously tested to tidy up public spaces in the Eternal City permanent.<\/p>\n<p>It will continue to be prohibited to drink alcohol in glass containers outdoors after 10 p.m., or in any form of container between midnight and 7 a.m. Anyone who violates the rules will be fined 150 euros. The city&#039;s bars will not be allowed to serve alcohol after 2 a.m. and organized alcohol tours will be banned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keep an eye on your pets<\/strong><br \/>\nHeavy fines will also continue to be handed out to those who dare to live out their Anita Ekberg dreams and take a dip in Rome&#039;s fountains, or throw anything other than coins into them. You are also not allowed to spill liquid in the fountains, climb on them or let your pets quench their thirst with the water. It has also been forbidden to take your packed lunch to tourist attractions such as the Spanish Steps.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new rules, police will be able to issue fines of 900 euros and ban unwanted people from specific city districts for 48 hours. If the person continues to cause problems, the ban can be extended. The law has so far mainly been used against beggars and migrants who are considered to harass tourists. They write svt.se.<\/p>\n<p><strong>500 new police officers<\/strong><br \/>\nBut it&#039;s not just visitors to Rome who will have to deal with new rules. Rome&#039;s authorities also want to get a handle on those who make money off tourists.<\/p>\n<p>The ban on the city&#039;s &quot;gladiators&quot; will be permanent, with fines of 400 euros for anyone who dons a historical costume and charges tourists for, for example, photographs.
