Around lunchtime on Tuesday, reports were received by London police of small envelope-like packages in A4 size posted to Heathrow Airport, London City Airport and Waterloo train station.
\nThe first alarm came after staff at Heathrow opened a package that had started to burn, writes Reuters.
\nSpecialists who examined the packages were later able to determine that they were "smaller improvised explosive devices," writes British Sky News.
\nThese have been taken into custody by police for further investigation. According to police, the bombs are said to have worked so that a small fire was ignited when the envelopes were opened, the channel writes.<\/p>\n

\nInitially, the premises where the bombs were found were evacuated for safety reasons, but later the airports and train station were able to fully reopen. Air and train traffic were not affected by the events.
