The plane that crashed in Ethiopia was the same model that crashed in Indonesia in October.<\/strong><\/p>\n

346 people died in the two plane disasters.<\/p>\n

The model is considered safe to fly - yet the US requires Boeing to modify the 737 Max, writes AFP.<\/p>\n

Four Swedes were among the 157 dead when Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 to Nairobi crashed on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The cause of the crash is being investigated and on Monday, experts from the US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) arrived in Ethiopia.<\/p>\n

The plane was a Boeing 737 Max 8. A plane of the same type crashed in Indonesia last fall, killing 189 people.<\/p>\n

After the second air disaster in a short period of time, questions have been raised about the safety of Boeing's Max series and several airlines from different countries have left their planes on the ground.<\/p>\n

On Monday evening, the FAA issued a letter stating that the model is deemed safe to fly.<\/p>\n

But according to AFP, citing the FAA, the US is simultaneously requiring Boeing to modify the 737 Max.<\/p>\n

It will ultimately be about design changes, according to Reuters.
\nAmerican Boeing is the world's largest aircraft manufacturer and the company's stock fell sharply after the accident.<\/p>\n
