\nUnless Boeing can convincingly guarantee the safety of the Boeing 737 Max 8, the Russian airline Aeroflot will withdraw its order for 20 such planes.<\/p>\n

This is stated by the airline's CEO Vitaly Savelyev, according to Reuters.<\/p>\n

\u201dIf there is not 100 percent guarantee that the plane is safe, no one will want it,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

Aeroflot has orders for 20 737 Max 8s intended for its low-cost subsidiary Pobeda, and deliveries were scheduled to begin in November.<\/p>\n

\u201d"Either Boeing solves the safety problems with the 737 Max by then, or we will order another aircraft model."\u201d<\/p>\n

The financial newspaper Vedomosti writes on Friday that the Russian government has suggested that Pobeda limit its business with Boeing to the 20 737s and instead purchase Russian-built aircraft in the future.<\/p>\n
