What we can now suspect is that it was built with flaws and that there has been a lack of communication with its operators about this system, says Tomas Gustafsson, chairman of the Swedish Pilots&#039; Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Data from the accident investigation in Ethiopia indicates that the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft had a new system on board, called MCAS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system was supposed to protect against pilots tipping the nose too steeply upwards. But the new MCAS system allegedly tipped the nose downwards for no reason.&nbsp;<br \/>The plane crashed and the 157 passengers died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tomas Gustafsson, chairman of the flight safety committee for the Swedish Pilots&#039; Association, emphasizes that the investigation into the accidents is not yet complete. But he says that Boeing did not even tell the pilots that the new automatic system existed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And he thinks Boeing itself should have taken the initiative to ground the planes. Instead, individual countries and authorities had to make that decision.
