The stock rises just over 2 percent in pre-trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Net income for the first quarter of this year is $730 million, equivalent to approximately SEK 6.8 billion. This is an increase of 31 percent compared to the result for the same quarter last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sales increased by 5.1 percent year-on-year to just over $10 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With adjusted earnings per share of 96 cents, the result was better than expected. Analysts had predicted adjusted earnings per share of 90 cents, according to Reuters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The forecast for the second quarter is also higher than expected. Delta Airlines now forecasts earnings per share of between $2.05 and $2.35 per share.
