SAS presented the new design of its aircraft fleet on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the first change in over 20 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe new look of the aircraft is an expression of the SAS of the future,\u201d says Rickard Gustafson, President and CEO of SAS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first planes to be repainted with the new design are the latest model Airbus A-350 and Airbus 320 neo, which will enter service after the New Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAS is modernizing its fleet with more fuel-efficient aircraft. 80 new Airbus A320 neo, five Airbus A330 Enhanced, eight Airbus A350, and three Airbus A321LR, are to be received before the end of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All planes repainted by 2024<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In 2015, a new interior design was introduced and with the new exterior design, SAS has achieved the ambition of uniting the inside and outside into a unified visual expression, SAS writes in the press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAS's new exterior design will be rolled out in line with the aircraft's regular maintenance program. This means that the existing fleet will be updated with the new design in conjunction with regular repainting, which occurs every five to six years. All SAS aircraft will have received the new design by 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HOW TO UPDATE THE SAS DESIGN<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

 The previous gray color of the aircraft body has been updated to a different, fresher shade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

   A large and proud SAS logo has been placed at the front of the plane, in a silver-gray shade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Analysis and customer feedback showed that the unique, blue SAS color has a very high level of recognition among SAS passengers. The new look of the SAS plane takes this into account and the blue color on the tail fin is reinforced and extended along the belly of the plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

   The engines, which were previously red, have now become silver-gray and are adorned with blue SAS crowns to harmonize with SAS's visual identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The word \u201dScandinavian\u201d is still on the engines, but now in dark grey, to provide a contrast to the silver-grey colour of the aircraft body and to flirt with the colour scheme of SAS\u2019s interior. The word \u201dScandinavian\u201d, in large, proud letters, has also been placed under the plane on the belly as a symbol of SAS\u2019s Scandinavian origins and to be clearly identifiable from the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  The Scandinavian origin is also evident in the three Scandinavian flags, which have been updated in an elegant and modern way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
