Dutch military police launched a major operation at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport after an alarm was raised about a situation on board an aircraft. However, it turned out that a pilot had accidentally triggered the alarm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The operation began at 7 p.m., and the airport classified the incident as a "serious situation that could have a major impact on the population," reports the AFP news agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An ambulance helicopter and rescue services were sent to the scene, and one of the airport's terminals was partially blocked off, Dutch media report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At 7:30 p.m., police tweeted that passengers and crew were safe. Shortly afterward, Air Europa announced that a pilot had accidentally triggered the alarm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
