For the full year of 2019, the aircraft manufacturer lost 87 orders \u2013 meaning the company received more cancellations than new purchases.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/01\/14\/boeing-posts-negative-commercial-airplane-orders-for-first-time-in-decades.html?__source=iosappshare%7Ccom.apple.UIKit.activity.Mail\">CNBC reports<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The order loss for Boeing shows how much of a negative impact the crisis-hit 737 Max model has had on the company, and a spokesman for the aircraft manufacturer said on Tuesday that he had not seen such a large drop in the number of new orders in &quot;at least 30 years.&quot;.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The negative figure is particularly painful for the company as Boeing&#039;s European rival Airbus registered 768 new aircraft orders during the full year last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 737 Max has been grounded since mid-March last year, and the company&#039;s CEO Dave Calhoun states that getting the aircraft model back in the air is a priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201d&quot;We will make it happen, and we will get it done right,&quot; he wrote in an email to Boeing employees, CNBC reports.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether the aircraft manufacturer will see a boost in orders to normal levels depends on when the crisis model is re-certified by the Federal Aviation Administration, the FAA.
