{"id":235920,"date":"2020-05-06T06:59:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-06T04:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/?p=235920"},"modified":"2024-02-02T12:42:18","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T12:42:18","slug":"ryanair-takes-sweden-to-the-eu-court-of-justice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/en\/ryanair-tar-sverige-till-eu-domstolen\/","title":{"rendered":"Ryanair takes Sweden to the EU Court of Justice"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/ryanair-aircraft-12-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-227387\"\/><figcaption>Photo: Ryanair<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The airline Ryanair has asked the European Court of Justice to invalidate the aid Sweden has given to airlines, reports Bloomberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was on March 19 that the Riksdag decided that during the year airlines would be \u201dgiven the opportunity to obtain credit guarantees worth a total of no more than SEK 5 billion.\u201d The support could only be given to companies that have a Swedish aviation permit and that have their main operations or registered office in Sweden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ryanair, which is based in Ireland but has some operations in Sweden, believes this violates EU law. In a statement, the company writes, according to Bloomberg, that Sweden&#039;s support measures discriminate against airlines based outside the country, and that they ignore the important role that pan-European airlines play in binding the EU together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The airline has also directed similar criticism at Danish and French support measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Source: TT<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Flygbolaget Ryanair har bett EU-domstolen att ogiltigf\u00f6rklara det st\u00f6d Sverige gett till flygbolag, rapporterar Bloomberg.
