The airline Easyjet plans to lay off up to 30 percent of its workforce, equivalent to 4,500 jobs. The aircraft fleet will also shrink, the Reuters news agency reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Easyjet is taking a much tougher approach than its competitors. Ryanair has previously announced a 15 percent cut, while Wizz Air is cutting its workforce by 19 percent.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Easyjet, which has over 15,000 employees in eight European countries, will enter into personnel negotiations in the coming days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company's Swedish CEO Johan Lundgren says that Easyjet is not currently planning a new share issue, but that it may become relevant later, as all possible tools must be used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
