Due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to advise against non-essential travel to all countries outside the Schengen area and the United Kingdom until January 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to extend the advice against non-essential travel to all countries outside the EU\/EEA\/Schengen area and the UK due to the widespread spread of the coronavirus. The decision is valid until 31 January 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that the pandemic is not over and that the uncertain situation that was the basis for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to introduce an advisory against foreign travel in March remains in large parts of the world. The great uncertainty means that it is not possible to predict when it will be possible to travel safely and freely throughout the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that regardless of where one travels, a great deal of responsibility rests with the individual traveler. The Ministry therefore urges every traveler to prepare properly before a trip, stay well informed about current entry regulations, and follow the advice and instructions of local authorities on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has in previous decisions lifted the advice against non-essential travel to: Andorra, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, the Vatican City and Austria. These countries remain exempt from the advice against non-essential travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Estonia, Ireland and Latvia, the advice against non-essential travel applies until November 18, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
