Austria will make skiing possible starting on Christmas Eve, December 24. However, hotels will be forced to remain closed until January 7, which means that only one-day trips are possible, reports The Local.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The announcement comes from Chancellor Sebastian Kurz during a press conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to allowing skiing, Austria will also ease gathering restrictions during Christmas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201d"We want to bring the (infection) number down by December 23 so that you can spend the holidays with up to ten people from any number of households," Kurz said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This exception is expected to apply during Christmas and New Year's Eve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
