A digital certificate showing that you have been vaccinated against Covid-19 should be in place by June 1. That is the government's goal, according to Minister of Digitalisation Anders Ygeman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 When Sweden and countries around us begin to open up, there will likely be requirements for vaccination certificates to travel and participate in other activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the certificate to fulfill its function, Sweden works both nationally and internationally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 Such a certificate must be recognized by the countries of the world. For this reason, Sweden is actively working with the WHO and the EU to ensure that the certificates meet international standards, says Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren (S).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
"Today, there are no formal certificates that are accepted globally by either Sweden or other countries. Part of the work to be able to produce such a certificate is to gain more knowledge about the spread of infection," said Hallengren. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Everyone who is vaccinated has the right to receive a certificate from the vaccinator. We are now developing a digital infrastructure for vaccination passports and their verification. This will make vaccination certificates safer, simpler and internationally applicable, says Ygeman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government is commissioning three agencies to continue the work to develop such a vaccination certificate. At the same time, Sweden wants to be an active party in shaping the international vaccination certificates and participate in the work of the WHO. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 The goal is for the digital infrastructure to be in place by the summer, said Anders Ygeman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More specifically, the set date is June 1, 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So far, at least 264,000 people in Sweden have received a first dose of the vaccine. The vaccination certificate that will be designed will have the same focus as the Danish one. In Denmark, the acting Minister of Finance Morten B\u00f8dskov described it as an extra passport, which you can carry in your mobile phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
