After Sunday&#039;s referendum \u2013 where a clear majority voted in favor \u2013 the municipal government is giving in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 It feels obvious to follow the election results even though we previously took a position in favor of a liquidation. But the people of V\u00e4ster\u00e5s have been very clear on this issue, says the chairman of the municipal board, Staffan Jansson (S), to VLT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the preliminary results, almost four out of five, just over 78 percent, voted against winding up the municipal airport company. The parties that decided to close it down \u2013 S, L, MP and V \u2013 emphasized in advance that it would matter how many people voted and how clear the result was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only about 37 percent of V\u00e4ster\u00e5s residents voted, but the municipality&#039;s largest party, the Social Democrats, still believes the result is clear enough.
