In July, occupancy is a record 95 percent.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the months of May, June and July, Kalmar&#039;s hotel occupancy has had a fantastic development, according to current statistics from the Benchmarking Alliance. The measurement, which is carried out continuously throughout the year, includes statistics from six central hotels in Kalmar. In the month of July, they have so far had an average occupancy of a whopping 95 percent. This can be compared with 88 percent in July 2020 and 93 percent in July 2019, that is, before the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 July is always an intense month, but this is the highest occupancy rate we have ever had in Kalmar in July. The occupancy rate has also been very good during May and June. Together with other strong coastal cities such as Visby, Varberg, Skellefte\u00e5 and Lule\u00e5, Kalmar is in the top tier in the country, says Stefan Johnson, Tourism Manager, Destination Kalmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several of Kalmar&#039;s hotel managers report good booking occupancy. Many have been fully booked in July and occupancy has increased especially Thursday to Sunday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 We see that many people continue to experience their own country instead of traveling abroad. There are many families with children, and many people from the older generation who want to experience Kalmar&#039;s culture, history and nature. Many take the opportunity to experience both Kalmar and \u00d6land \u2013 and preferably from the saddle of a bicycle, says Stefan Johnson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The forecast for August also looks very good, although the trend of fairly late bookings continues.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 The hotels had a very tough start to the year due to the pandemic. Despite this, it is likely that the figure for the full year 2021 will be almost the same as in a normal year. We also see that the trend with motorhomes is continuing.
