New attempts are being made to get the government to halt its plans to close down Bromma Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the government is to reorganize the basic range of airports, the Riksdag must first give its approval, according to a proposal from the Moderates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201dThe government must respect the Riksdag,\u201d says Maria Stockhaus, spokesperson for M in the transport committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She reminds us that the Riksdag, in announcements to the government this year and in 2016, has urged the government not to close Bromma prematurely. And a condition for possibly doing so is to develop Arlanda and ensure that important domestic routes are not lost in the event of a move.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, it is completely ill-timed to make a decision to close down Bromma now or in the near future after years of the pandemic and a decline in travel. It is not possible to make any reliable forecasts about how aviation will recover and whether it is possible to get rid of an airport, the Moderates believe, and believe they can get a majority in the committee to support their proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
