The country&#039;s borders have been closed to international visitors since early last year, but is now preparing to restart its vital tourism industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Previously, it was planned to reopen Phu Quoc in October, but those plans were scrapped due to the population&#039;s low vaccination rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">White beaches, crystal clear waters and lush jungle attracted around 670,000 visitors to Phu Quoc in 2019. Vietnamese authorities have hoped that the island will become a tourist mecca like Phuket in Thailand or Bali in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From November 20, special flights carrying international visitors with vaccination passports will be welcomed to the island.
