A six-week wait for vaccination certificates awaits those who lack e-ID, despite the fact that the issuer, the Swedish E-Health Authority, has hired 58 new people to meet the pressure.

When the government announced in mid-November that requirements for showing vaccination certificates would be introduced in certain businesses from December, there was high pressure at the E-health Authority in Kalmar, which issues the certificates. The authority has still not caught up with the analogue certificates, despite new hires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 We really want it to go much faster than it does now, and we are working to shorten waiting times as much as we can, says Erika Burlin Hellman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of ten million vaccine passports have been issued by the E-Health Agency to five million Swedes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of November, the authority announced that 40 new people would be hired in Kalmar to meet increased demand, and that number has grown since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 In total, there are around 60 new employees, most of whom are in service now and the rest will join in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
