{"id":239033,"date":"2022-02-04T06:59:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-04T05:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/?p=239033"},"modified":"2022-02-04T06:59:00","modified_gmt":"2022-02-04T05:59:00","slug":"travel-bookings-increase-sharply-after-thursdays-announcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/en\/resebokningarna-okar-starkt-efter-torsdagens-besked\/","title":{"rendered":"Travel bookings increase sharply after Thursday&#039;s announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/strandhav440.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-224951\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/strandhav440.jpg 440w, https:\/\/www.travelreport.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/strandhav440-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Travel bookings have picked up significantly for the major charter companies before and after the government&#039;s announcement that restrictions are about to be eased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ving&#039;s communications manager Claes Pellvik says that bookings have been boosted by the reporting of recent days, which culminated in Thursday morning&#039;s announcement that restrictions in Sweden will be lifted as of Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 There has been a steady positive increase and it follows very much the same pattern as we have seen in Norway and Denmark, where we also have operations, says Pellvik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bookings for this summer&#039;s trips have increased by 300 percent compared to last summer, according to Ving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201dShot into the air\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apollo&#039;s communications manager Sandra Miller Kinge describes an avalanche-like increase over the last two weeks, which has accelerated towards the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 Both website traffic and sales have skyrocketed in the past week, says Miller Kinge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TUI&#039;s communications officer Ronja Jakobsson says that sales so far on Thursday are three times higher than a week ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 There have definitely been a lot of bookings in the last few days and last week compared to before.
