You can get there by bus, the red line of the metro or shuttle boat line 80.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new Tram Museum is now opening in the carefully renovated industrial building by Ferdinand Boberg from 1897 \u2013 House 9 in the Gas Works area near Ropsten.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visitors will get a fascinating insight into the development of public transport and Stockholm \u2013 from the rowing boats of the 17th century to today&#039;s modern public transport. The old successful concept of accessible and inclusive exhibitions for multiple target groups is now presented in a completely new guise that suits visitors of all ages.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 The most important thing has been to create a museum that is rich in content and fun \u2013 it is through playfulness that we believe we best create understanding and interest in how public transport, and Stockholm, has developed over time, says Eva Ramberg, museum director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The museum houses a large collection of objects that show the history of public transport, with everything from vehicles to ticket kiosks and advertising posters. In addition to museum objects, there is plenty for visitors to do \u2013 for example, they can try driving a tram and bus, ride a mini-metro, and challenge themselves to run faster than one of the old vehicles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 Many people have worked hard for several years to create the new museum and it has really paid off. It will be so much fun to welcome back all the adults and children who have been waiting for it, says David Lagneholm, head of traffic administration and CEO of AB SL and Waxholmsbolaget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Facts about the Tram Museum<br \/><\/strong>The Tram Museum was founded in 1920 and has since been located in several different locations in Stockholm. It was last located on S\u00f6dermalm, in a bus garage. The museum closed in September 2017, as the garage was to be demolished. After five years, the Tram Museum is now reopening in Norra Djurg\u00e5rdsstaden.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An entrance ticket to the new museum costs 120 kronor for an adult. Children and young people under 18 years of age are admitted free. The premises will accommodate 1,000 visitors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2016, the Tram Museum had 120,000 visitors.
