Recently, queues have been long at several major airports in Europe. The explanation is a staff shortage as more people want to travel after the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201d"All travel companies and airlines are in the same position, and I think those responsible have realized that too, that it is not a sustainable situation," says Anna Hagberg, press officer at the travel company Ving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many travelers choose to arrive at the airport too early, which can contribute to increased congestion, according to state-owned Swedavia, which operates Arlanda. Ving recommends travelers be at the airport about three hours before departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201dWe have been informing our travelers via text message for a long time,\u201d says Hagberg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ving is in contact with various stakeholders regarding the queueing problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201d"We are trying to influence as much as possible, but it is a problem that lies with Swedavia and those responsible."\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anna Hagberg does not want to tell us how those conversations go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201d"Of course, we have a dialogue via industry associations and try to stay on top of things as much as possible, of course, but I don't have any detailed information."\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those who have booked trips with Ving and the travel company TUI from Arlanda will be able to catch their planes on time, despite the crowds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201dWe have no reports of guests not arriving on their flights,\u201d says Hagberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Around 5,000 travelers travel with TUI from Arlanda every week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201d"It may be that people who are going on a charter trip with their family are not at risk. They are there in very good time," says TUI's communications manager Adam Gy\u00f6rki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
