Overall, travel increased by 127 percent compared to the same period last year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 It is fantastic that demand increased so quickly after the restrictions were lifted, and this means that we can really implement our planned investments of up to SEK 19 billion. We are now taking a holistic approach and implementing improvement work linked to employee satisfaction and attractiveness as an employer. We are also investing in a new and upgraded train fleet so that even more people can travel quickly, comfortably and climate-smartly with us in the future. We are simply investing in the way of travel of the future, says SJ&#039;s President and CEO Monica Lingeg\u00e5rd.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entire railway industry is currently affected by the current shortage of train drivers and the late announcements made by the Swedish Transport Administration regarding the summer&#039;s track work. This means, among other things, that the planned increases in supply to meet demand have not been fully implemented and SJ has also been forced to cancel a small number of departures during the quarter. SJ is now starting train driver training under its own auspices to increase the number of trained train drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Outcome second quarter 2022:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Net sales amounted to SEK 2,769 million (1,486)<\/li><li>Operating profit amounted to SEK 582* million (-415)<\/li><li>The quarter&#039;s profit amounted to SEK 437 million (-334).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*Operating profit was positively affected by SEK 265 million, mainly due to changes in provisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the press release.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>En kraftigt \u00f6kad efterfr\u00e5gan p\u00e5 klimatsmarta och bekv\u00e4ma t\u00e5gresor g\u00f6r att SJ kommit tillbaka till normala niv\u00e5er efter pandemin och \u00e4r \u00e5ter l\u00f6nsamt efter tv\u00e5 f\u00f6rlusttyngda \u00e5r.\u00a0 Under kvartalet \u00f6kade samtliga kundsegment sitt resande med SJ.
