From the end of spring, you can fly directly between western Sweden and the Italian capital. The direct connection meets demand from both Swedish holidaymakers and those traveling to visit family, relatives and friends. The increased availability is also positive for the regional business community and the tourism industry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the new route to its base in Rome, Wizz Air will offer a total of eight direct routes from Gothenburg to destinations in Central and Eastern Europe this summer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is very exciting that Wizz Air continues to see opportunities in the Swedish market and is expanding with another direct route from Western Sweden. The direct route will be the third to Italy from Landvetter and the schedule is perfect for a long weekend. The increased availability is long-awaited by Swedes who want to visit fantastic Rome and other parts of Italy, but is also important for the regional tourism industry, says&nbsp;<strong>Anna Stromwall<\/strong>, Airport Director at Swedavia Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wizz Air will be the sole operator of the Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (GOT) \u2013 Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) route, which has been closed for two years. Starting on 30 April 2023, Wizz Air will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays, year-round, with an Airbus 321 Neo. The aircraft has 239 seats and its fuel-efficient engines contribute to lower emissions.
