Airline SAS is rising sharply on Monday, entering its fifth consecutive trading day of gains. The pressured stock has advanced nearly 19 percent over the past week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before lunchtime on Monday, SAS shares rose by just over 5 percent and now cost 67 \u00f6re. The decline since the beginning of the year has thus shrunk to a total of just over 47 percent. The struggling airline has risen for five days in a row.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since October 5, when the company announced that it had reached agreements on changed terms with lessors regarding aircraft and equipment, a step in the transformation work that the company calls SAS Forward, an upward trend has been visible for the share. SAS has risen 16 of the last 19 trading days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the leasing announcement, traffic figures for September showed that approximately 2 million passengers traveled with SAS during the period, an increase of 72 percent compared to the same month last year. The number of passengers was the highest level since the pandemic began, according to the CEO. SAS has also announced deferred interest payments on hybrid bonds, also part of the change process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, the company reported its financial position as of the end of September, a requirement under the ongoing Chapter 11 process in the US. It showed that SAS had revenues totaling SEK 28.4 billion during the period November 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022. The result for the period was summed up to minus SEK 7.1 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAS has over 270,000 shareholders, according to the ownership data service Holdings, which suggests that SAS has become something of a popular stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geir Linl\u00f8kken, head of analysis at Investtech, recently warned, in an interview with Di<\/a>, private investors from buying shares in the airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201d"It is a very dangerous stock and we believe it will continue to decline. SAS is high-risk and technically negative. Based on quantitative data and based on the technical picture, the stock is very weak," said Geir Linl\u00f8kken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
