The purple P\u00e5gat\u00e5gen have become part of the Sk\u00e5ne landscape and they are very popular with the people of Sk\u00e5ne. With a well-developed network of stations, they are also important in maintaining Sk\u00e5ne as an attractive region to live, work and study in.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, this will be even more evident when two important railway construction projects in Sk\u00e5ne are completed. The double track between \u00c4ngelholm and Maria and the four-track between Malm\u00f6 and Lund. This will also increase the possibility of running even more passenger trains in Sk\u00e5ne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201d"We are proud of P\u00e5gat\u00e5gen, which takes tens of thousands of people to work, school, home and on leisure trips every day. Over the years, traffic has developed and we see daily examples of how P\u00e5gat\u00e5gen connects Sk\u00e5ne and enables fast transport throughout the region. Traffic is constantly developing and at the end of 2023, two major railway projects will be completed that will help increase traffic and make the whole of Sk\u00e5ne even closer," says Hans Engleson, Acting Business Area Manager Trains at Sk\u00e5netrafiken. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout 2023, the 40th anniversary of the P\u00e5gat\u00e5gen will be celebrated throughout Sk\u00e5ne. On the anniversary on January 9, there was a special celebration with singing and music at Malm\u00f6 C. After this celebration, a decorated birthday train will roll through Sk\u00e5ne. The Railway Museum in \u00c4ngelholm has a special P\u00e5gat\u00e5gen corner from January to June, and those traveling during the year will encounter historical flashbacks and quizzes about the P\u00e5gat\u00e5gen. Some other surprises are also promised. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201d"For 40 years, the commuter trains have constantly developed and step by step brought the people of Sk\u00e5ne closer to each other. The commuter trains will continue to be an important piece of the puzzle for the everyday lives of the people of Sk\u00e5ne when it comes to commuting to work, leisure and school trips," says Carina Zachau (M), Chair of the Public Transport Committee in Region Sk\u00e5ne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purple P\u00e5gat\u00e5gen facts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The P\u00e5gat\u00e5gen stops at 77 stations in Sk\u00e5ne, of which 55 are pure P\u00e5gat\u00e5gen stations where only the purple trains stop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The maximum speed of a train is 160km\/h. A train set (not coupled) has 228 seats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
