Vattenfall and Stromma Group are investing in the conversion of Stromma's sightseeing boats to silent and emission-free electric operation. The first to be launched are Amsterdam's canal boats, which are to be fully electrified by 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vattenfall and Stromma Group, with operations in six countries with 19 destinations including Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Oslo, Helsinki and Stockholm, have entered into a partnership with the aim of electrifying Stromma's boat fleet to ensure fossil-free operation. The first collaborative project will be the electrification of canal boats in Amsterdam, where Vattenfall will supply the battery system for emission-free operation of the city's canal boats, which will become mandatory from 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 The partnership with Stromma is a shining example of how we can jointly drive electrification forward and, in the long term, enable a completely emission-free fleet. Our \u201dPower-as-a-Service\u201d concept is based on us owning, managing and taking responsibility for the operation and maintenance of electrical infrastructure. This means that our customers can focus on their core business, says Maria Lindberg, responsible for electrification of heavy transport at Vattenfall Network Solutions.\u00a0

\u201cWe look forward to working with Vattenfall to electrify our boats in Amsterdam as a first step. We are facing a major adjustment of our operations and the partnership is an important step in our continued sustainability work,\u201d says Patric Sj\u00f6berg, President and CEO of Stromma Group.
