As March drew to a close, it felt more like summer than early spring in places like the Baltics, Poland, Croatia and Albania. Japan recorded temperatures that usually only occur in July, and it was also unusually warm in countries like Guatemala and Costa Rica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
March this year was 0.73 degrees warmer than the average for the month during 1991\u20132000 and 0.10 degrees warmer than March 2016, which held the previous record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201dStopping further warming requires rapid reductions in greenhouse gas emissions,\u201d said Samantha Burgess, deputy director of Copernicus, in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
