On May 28, the shipping company&#039;s new line was celebrated with an official inauguration on board the ferry. The inauguration ribbon in Swedish-Polish colors was cut by Finnlines management and the chairwoman of the Malm\u00f6 City Council, Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh (S).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The freight and passenger shipping company Finnlines now operates two connections from Malm\u00f6 to Continental Europe. Finnlines&#039; freight and passenger ship Finnfellow has been operating to Travem\u00fcnde in Germany for a few years, but on April 10, 2024, it set a new course for \u015awinouj\u015bcie in Poland. Since then, the ferry has operated the route daily, and on May 28, 2024, an inauguration was held, attended by Finnlines CEO Tom Pippingsk\u00f6ld, Finnlines Line Manager Antonio Raimo, Finnlines Passenger Director Marco Palmu and the Chair of the City Council of Malm\u00f6, Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh (S).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFirst and foremost, I would like to thank everyone who came to celebrate with us. With our new direct connection to Poland, we have opened up new opportunities in trade and tourism. We are proud to secure an important trade route between Malm\u00f6 and West Pomerania in Poland and at the same time contribute to a pleasant travel environment for both business and leisure travelers,\u201d says Tom Pippingsk\u00f6ld, CEO of Finnlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMalm\u00f6 is Sweden&#039;s bridge to the rest of the world. With Finnlines&#039; new maritime connection across the Baltic Sea to Poland, our city&#039;s position is further strengthened,\u201d says Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh (S), Chair of the Malm\u00f6 City Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Copenhagen Malm\u00f6 Port (CMP), which operates the port of Malm\u00f6, and Euro Terminal, which handles port operations in \u015awinouj\u015bcie, are also pleased with the new route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201d&quot;Finnlines is a long-standing and very important partner to the port and we are pleased that the cooperation has now been deepened. With a new route between Malm\u00f6 and \u015awinouj\u015bcie, a large and growing market is opened up, which also creates opportunities for other businesses in the port area and for the development of intermodal transport in the port,&quot; says Barbara Scheel Agersnap, CEO of Copenhagen Malm\u00f6 Port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201dThe new connection comes as a response to market demand and strengthens the position of the Port of \u015awinouj\u015bcie as a main gateway between Poland and Sweden. We are convinced that the new connection will enable the optimization of transport and provide added value for both companies and visitors. We are pleased to be able to develop this service together with Finnlines and look forward to its continued development,\u201d says Katarzyna Bulawa, CEO of Euro Terminals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to Finnlines&#039; daily ferry to \u015awinouj\u015bcie, the company also operates three freight and passenger ships between Malm\u00f6 and Travem\u00fcnde every day. These ships, all designed in Finnlines&#039; typical colors of white and navy blue, can be seen sailing under the \u00d6resund Bridge to and from the company&#039;s terminal in the North Harbor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finnfellow, which operates between Malm\u00f6 and \u015awinouj\u015bcie, has over 180 cabins and has a capacity for 440 passengers and over 3,000 cargo meters.
