Meit Fohlin (S), chairman of the Gotland Regional Board, wants to change that, reports\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sverigesradio.se\/artikel\/gotland-vill-beskatta-sina-turister\">SR Echo<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201d&quot;It is important that tourism continues to be an important industry and then you need contributions to the local area,&quot; she tells the radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hundreds of thousands of tourists visit Gotland during a few intense summer months.
