Swedish wineries impress with top-quality wine! This was confirmed at The Swedish Wine Tasting, where international wine experts tasted some of Europe's top wines and a Swedish wine received the highest rating. For those of you who want to discover Sweden's wine production up close, here are some examples of wineries to visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sweden may not have been known for wine production historically, but the country\u2019s diverse nature is home to a growing number of vineyards and winemakers who have gained increasing recognition and challenged the perception of where exceptional wines are created. Sweden\u2019s cool climate, which may seem less suitable for grape growing, innovative cultivation methods and a focus on cold-tolerant grape varieties have meant that Swedish wineries are now reaping the rewards. From the southern coast of Sk\u00e5ne to the picturesque landscapes of S\u00f6rmland, each region offers a unique terroir that shapes the character and taste of the wines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Swedish summer highlight for wine lovers, The Swedish Wine Tasting<\/a>, Swedish wines were put to the test against a selection of Europe's best. Some of the world's most influential sommeliers and wine writers tasted 24 wines, half Swedish and half European, carefully selected to match the Swedish wines in both style and price. After two hours of intensive tasting, it was clear that Swedish wines stood strong in the international competition. For Swedish Kullabergs Vineyard<\/a> The competition was a huge success as their wine won first place and greatly impressed the international expert jury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kullabergs Vineyard<\/u><\/a> whose wine The Immelen<\/em> received the highest rating at The Swedish Wine Tasting is located near Nyhamnsl\u00e4ge. The vineyard focuses on the Solaris and Souvignier Gris grapes and produces award-winning white, ros\u00e9, orange and sparkling wines as well as spirits. Kullabergs offers vineyard tours and tastings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S\u00e4rtsh\u00f6ga winery<\/u><\/a> at V\u00e4ttern specializes in sparkling wines produced according to the traditional method, mainly with the Solaris grape, as well as apple must and cider. The vineyard offers guided tours and tastings as well as a restaurant open in the evenings and the possibility of overnight stays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c4stad Vineyard<\/u><\/a> in Tv\u00e5\u00e5ker, Halland not only offers wine tasting \u2013 here you can also enjoy a SPA experience with cold and hot baths, as well as eat at the farm's two restaurants. Accommodation options range from suites with private spas to cozy log cabins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hall\u00e5kra Vineyard<\/u><\/a> in Andersl\u00f6v is one of Sweden's oldest and largest vineyards at seven hectares, producing red, white and sparkling wines. In the summer, visitors are welcome to take part in tours and wine tastings, as well as lunch and dinner service for those who want to eat on the farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vejby Vineyard<\/u><\/a> in Vejbystrand offers a unique experience with its old Georgian-style wine cellar. Former architect Jeppe Appelin deviated from the usual preference for white wines by choosing to create wines with vibrant red, pink and orange tones. The vineyard offers tours and tastings where visitors can explore the rich history of winemaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thora Vineyard<\/u><\/a> is located on the scenic Bj\u00e4re Peninsula between B\u00e5stad and Torekov with views of Halland's V\u00e4rder\u00f6. Visitors can take part in guided tours and tastings, experience the tranquility of the area and sample high-quality wines from locally grown grapes such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Solaris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blacksta Vineyard<\/u><\/a> in Flen is one of Sweden's northernmost vineyards and is only a two-hour drive from Stockholm. It offers champagne and wine tasting, as well as a truffle festival during a weekend in November.
