On Cinnamon Bun Day on October 4, this beloved pastry is celebrated and 10 million buns are baked and enjoyed, by young and old, throughout the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sweden has a long line of food traditions and culinary holidays, with 18 days in the calendar set aside to celebrate various baked goods. Cinnamon Bun Day is perhaps the most fragrant and beloved of them all. It&#039;s not just about satisfying a sweet tooth, the day has developed into a popular event where people gather to enjoy the warm, spicy taste of cinnamon buns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tradition was introduced in 1999 by the Swedish Home Baking Council in connection with their 40th anniversary and is \u201da tribute to our most beloved bun and to those who bake it\u201d. Every year, over 10 million cinnamon buns are sold and baked in Sweden on this day. Of these, around seven million are sold commercially, while another three to four million are baked at home. And interest in the cinnamon bun continues to grow, which is also visible in the growing number of Google searches that have increased by 36% since 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Swedish cinnamon bun is today more than just a pastry. It is a symbol of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/visitsweden.com\/what-to-do\/food-drink\/swedish-kitchen\/seven-types-of-cookies-the-swedish-custom-is-a-delicious-history\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Swedish coffee<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;and a valued tradition where friends, family and colleagues take a break together \u2013 over half of Swedish employers treat their staff to cinnamon rolls on this particular day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So why not visit one of Sweden&#039;s many bakeries and pastry shops and enjoy this Swedish classic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Examples of cafes where you can find cinnamon buns<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stockholm&#039;s most oversized cinnamon buns can still be found at classic\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cafesaturnus.se\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Cafe Saturn<\/u><\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mrcake\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Mr. Cake<\/u><\/a>, run by two of Sweden&#039;s most famous bakers, mixes Swedish caf\u00e9 culture with American-inspired pastries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On award-winning\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/robindelseliusbageri\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Robin Delselius Bakery<\/u><\/a>\u00a0you can choose between traditional cinnamon buns and the bun of the month.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/brogyllen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Pastry shop Brogyllen<\/u><\/a>\u00a0is a classic Gothenburg bakery whose juicy cinnamon buns have been satisfying sweet tooth Gothenburgers for over 20 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don&#039;t miss the giant cinnamon buns called &quot;Hagabullen&quot; at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cafehusaren\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Caf\u00e9 Hussaren<\/u><\/a>.
