Boeing is about to make one of the largest new issues of shares to date among American listed companies. The pressured aircraft manufacturer wants to raise up to 218 billion kronor to strengthen its balance sheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It involves a combination of common stock and depositary receipts and the money will be used to repay debt and investments in subsidiaries. Boeing also needs a capital injection to avoid its credit rating being downgraded to junk status, which would jeopardize financing for future ventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American aircraft manufacturer is under great financial pressure and there does not yet appear to be an end to the massive strike among the company's employees, which is now in its seventh week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Bloomberg, the company is expected to burn another $4 billion in the fourth quarter, which would result in a negative free cash flow of $14 billion for the full year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boeing shares are down slightly in pre-market trading in the US. So far this year, the price is down almost 40 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
