Tourists in Mog\u00e1n on the southwest coast of Gran Canaria will have to open their wallets even more from next year, after the municipality decided to introduce a tourist tax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everyone staying in hotels or other facilities there must then pay 0.15 euros, equivalent to less than two kronor, per night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Mog\u00e1n, which according to the Norwegian news site Canariajournalen is the first municipality to introduce such a tax, there are several popular travel destinations for Scandinavians, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, several have opposed the tax, writes Canariajournalen, because the costs of administering the fee are estimated to exceed the expected revenues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
