Then the iconic Swedish red cottage with white knots may take the step from being a symbol of Swedish countryside idyll to also becoming a space icon!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The Swedish\u00a0<em>Moon House<\/em>\u00a0lifts off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and after a four-month journey through space, the red house lands and becomes the first building on the moon. The idea and vision behind the project comes from Swedish artist Mikael Genbergs, who states, \u201dIt only took 25 years.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A completely unique cottage<\/strong><br>This is neither the plot of&nbsp;<em>Fly Me to the Moon<\/em>&nbsp;or a new sci-fi blockbuster! Soon a red cottage with white knots \u2013 an iconic symbol of Swedish idyll and charm \u2013 will take its place on the moon. The Moon House is not a holiday home (yet), but a clear expression of artist Mikael Genberg&#039;s passion for uniting art, architecture and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201d&quot;Perhaps the first house on the moon can be a symbol of life&#039;s eternal striving to survive and evolve, to move human consciousness and be an eye on Earth,&quot; says Mikael Genberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mikael Genberg is used to defying the law of gravity. Through accommodations like the tree house&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uniqhotels.com\/woodpecker-hotel\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Hotel Woodpecker<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;and the underwater dwelling&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=VYL9fmFLjUQ\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Hotel Utter Inn<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;His projects have impressed visitors both in and outside his hometown of V\u00e4ster\u00e5s. In 2009, Genberg sent a work of art to the International Space Station together with Sweden&#039;s first astronaut, Christer Fuglesang.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This time, Genberg&#039;s dream is literally taking flight all the way to the moon. Thanks to a collaboration with Japanese&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ispace-inc.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><u>ispace<\/u><\/a>\u2019&#039;s lunar rover&nbsp;<em>TENACIOUS<\/em>&nbsp;and the lunar lander&nbsp;<em>RESILIENCE<\/em>&nbsp;his Moon House will soon land on the moon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201dIt\u2019s exciting that something like this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/visitsweden.com\/visit-the-original-sweden\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><u>original Swedish<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;&quot;Like the red cabin with white knots, it can travel so far away and draw attention to our earthly destination for many years to come,&quot; says Susanne Andersson, CEO of Visit Sweden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Here you will find some of Sweden&#039;s more down-to-earth red cottages&nbsp;<\/strong><br>Fortunately, you don&#039;t need a moon lander to experience the charm of the Swedish red cottage.
