In this year&#039;s survey, TUI climbs eleven places in the overall ranking, which includes over 400 Swedish brands \u2013 from place 250 to 239.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 Sustainability has always been an important issue for us at TUI. Two years ago we launched a new, even more ambitious sustainability agenda that will lead the way towards the future of travel. As one of the world&#039;s largest tour operators, we have the muscle to drive development forward towards more sustainable travel. We still have some way to go, but we have come a long way along the way, says Dian Martinez Valencia, Communications Manager at TUI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TUI&#039;s sustainability agenda has a clear action plan for how the travel company will reduce its emissions and has been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), in accordance with the climate goals of the Paris Agreement. In the action plan, TUI commits, among other things, to reduce emissions from its own airline by 24 percent by 2030 and from its own hotels by almost half (46.2 percent), compared to 2019 levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, TUI has over 600 sustainability-certified hotels in its Nordic offering. These focus on renewable energy and resource-saving solutions. For example, a quarter of TUI&#039;s hotels already use solar energy. Some examples are TUI Blue Sarigerme Park and TUI Blue Palm Garden in Turkey, which have been supplying their hotels with green energy from a new solar cell plant since last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Projects that support local communities<br><\/strong>TUI is also involved in local communities through the independent TUI Care Foundation. The foundation supports initiatives and projects that preserve natural resources, promote and highlight local culture and give back to the local communities in which TUI operates. During the year, the TUI Care Foundation has, among other things, expanded its support to more forest conservation projects through the TUI Forest initiative in Zanzibar, Kenya and Gran Canaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>About the survey<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sb-insight.com\/sbi-sweden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sustainable Brand Index<\/a>&nbsp;is Europe&#039;s largest independent brand study on sustainability and examines how consumers perceive brands&#039; sustainability work.
