In France, it has already been over 35 degrees \u2013 and in Spain around 40 degrees are expected. Now the weather authorities are warning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Already last week, parts of Europe were hit by a heat wave, when it was over 35 degrees in\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.expressen.se\/tagg\/location\/frankrike\/\">France<\/a>. Admittedly not record hot, writes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/en\/environment\/article\/2025\/06\/21\/france-swelters-under-summer-s-first-heatwave-it-s-impossible-to-sleep-before-3-am_6742575_114.html\">The World<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 but a heat wave that was intense and came unusually early in the year. Now a new super heat wave is expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">40 degrees in Spain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Spain, the weather agency AEMET is warning of a heat wave from Saturday, June 28, until at least Tuesday, July 1. On its website, the agency writes that a dry and very hot air mass is moving in from northern Africa, and moving over the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands (which includes Mallorca) starting on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201dAs a result, higher temperatures than usual are expected for this time of year\u201d<\/em>, it says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The worst is expected to be in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula, as well as in the lower-lying areas in the northeast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There, temperatures could &quot;quite widely&quot; exceed 38 degrees, and in some places it could reach 40-42 degrees, according to AEMET. The interior of Mallorca is also expected to reach 36-38 degrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Canary Islands will also feel the hot air mass, but the temperatures there are not classified as &quot;a heat wave&quot;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The heat continues in France<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the Iberian Peninsula with Portugal and Spain, it will once again be super hot in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The weather agency M\u00e9t\u00e9o-France has issued yellow and orange warnings for the southeastern part of the country. Starting Friday, temperatures of 35\u201339 degrees are expected in the Mediterranean.
