Work to make the N\u00e4md\u00f6 archipelago a national park began in 2020. It consists of a large sea area that includes approximately 1,300 islands, islets and skerries. The area is considered to be of great importance for biodiversity and the new national park will be Sweden&#039;s second national park with a marine focus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"The N\u00e4md\u00f6 Archipelago is Sweden&#039;s 31st national park.\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FDUOb7MB-IM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The N\u00e4md\u00f6 Archipelago National Park will be inaugurated during the week between August 30 and September 7.
