Now the flight chaos for vacationers continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A large number of air traffic controllers in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aftonbladet.se\/tagg\/frankrike\">France<\/a>\u00a0went on strike on Thursday which is expected to cause a lot of disruption, reports\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leparisien.fr\/economie\/greve-des-controleurs-le-point-sur-les-perturbations-ce-jeudi-dans-les-aeroports-a-la-veille-des-vacances-dete-03-07-2025-2E62ROSHFZASFMO2YXWEDLERRI.php\">The Parisian<\/a>. The situation is expected to worsen further on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The French aviation authority has ordered a 40 percent reduction in the number of flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201dAir traffic throughout Western Europe is expected to be affected by the disruptions, given France&#039;s central location,\u201d the newspaper writes. 300,000 travelers are affected, according to NTB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201dRuin vacation plans\u201d<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The influential organization Airlines for Europe, which includes Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, British Airways, EasyJet and Ryanair, describes the strike as &quot;unacceptable&quot; and warns of the consequences:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 It will ruin the holiday plans of thousands of people. The strike was called to demand better working conditions and increased staffing, according to the union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201dLimited impact for Swedes\u201d<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, a reform of the clocking system for air traffic controllers is pending after a serious incident at Bordeaux airport in 2022 when two planes almost collided. According to the aviation authority, the air traffic controllers did not follow the duty schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAviation safety and the professionalism of the industry are at stake, and I will not back down on this important reform,\u201d says Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Swedavia states that the impact on Swedish travelers is currently limited and that individual flights to Nice are affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Norwegian writes in a text message:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201d&quot;For Swedish travelers, we have canceled a round-trip flight to Nice today. All travelers will be informed directly by us and will have the opportunity to rebook or get their money back.
