Tourism in H\u00e4rn\u00f6sand is showing strong growth. During the first five months of the year, the municipality has had 34,570 commercial guest nights, according to preliminary statistics from the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth. This is an increase of 49.4 percent compared to the same period last year \u2013 corresponding to 11,434 more overnight stays at hotels, campsites and hostels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behind the figures is also a clear economic contribution to the local economy. With an average consumption of 1850 kronor per guest night, tourism is estimated to have generated close to 70 million kronor for the business community during the period. This is an increase of over 21 million compared to last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 We see that H\u00e4rn\u00f6sand is being strengthened as a place to visit by more and more people, including more who want to return and experience more. But above all, more people can stay because we now have more beds to offer, says Eva-Lotta \u00d6berg, location developer at H\u00e4rn\u00f6sand Municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 We see an effect of purposeful work on the location's profile, more accommodation options and an increased interest in the coast, nature and experiences, says Petra Forsstr\u00f6m, head of business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Foreign guest nights are also increasing sharply \u2013 by 150 percent compared to the same period in 2024. Even though the starting level was low, this still means over 1,400 more foreign overnight stays. The largest foreign markets are Finland and Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statistics apply to commercial accommodations, which means that private cottage rentals, subletting, and Airbnb are not included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
