During the second quarter of the year, 8.9 million passengers travelled via Swedavia's ten airports, an increase of 0.8 percent compared to 2024. Demand for international travel remains positive and increased by two percent during the quarter. In total, domestic travel decreased by three percent during the quarter, but with clear geographical differences. June was the first month this year where the development for domestic travel was positive, with the strongest development for Swedavia's airports in northern Sweden and at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.

For the second quarter, Swedavia again reports a positive result before tax of SEK 109 million (96), which is SEK 13 million better compared to the second quarter of last year.
In this year's summer program, the line offering has been strengthened with 21 new routes. At Arlanda, 15 new routes have started, of which seven to completely new destinations. Landvetter is also growing with six new routes. United returned in June with seasonal traffic to New York, and Air Canada has resumed traffic to Toronto. Together with Delta and SAS, this means a strong North American offering. In early July, Norse Atlantic announced that they would continue to invest in Arlanda and add Phuket to their route network, starting in December.
In the longer term, the development for air travel looks positive. Swedavia's updated long-term forecast points to an annual increase in air travel of 2.9 percent. This is a slightly higher increase than in the previous forecast. Among the underlying factors are higher GDP expectations and slightly lower additional costs for climate change than in the previous forecast, which reduces the dampening effect on demand. At the turn of the year, the aviation tax was abolished, which over time is expected to contribute to stronger traffic development.
On-time performance for departing flights continues to be high \u2013 just over 84 percent, which is four percentage points better than last year. Passenger satisfaction continues to increase \u2013 a result of the strong operational delivery and the investments made, including in the new Marketplace and the new security checkpoint at Arlanda, where over 97.6 percent of passengers passed through in under ten minutes in June.
Arlanda is important for Sweden's accessibility. At the beginning of June, the Arlanda Coordinator presented his final report with several important proposals to strengthen Arlanda, which now need to be translated into practical action. The government has also appointed a new investigation into the state's future role as airport owner, including a review of the national basic supply and the function of Bromma Stockholm Airport. The assignment is to be reported on by September 2026.
Investments at Arlanda continue. The modernization of piers and parking spaces at Sky City is going according to plan. The new Market Square was completed in June. In May, it was named \u201dCommercial Space of the Year 2025\u201d by Nordic Commercial Spaces & Communities.
Visby Airport, \u00c5re \u00d6stersund Airport and Kiruna Airport have now achieved Airport Carbon Accreditation level 5, the highest international certification within the framework for airports' climate transition work. This makes Swedavia a world leader, with seven out of ten airports certified at the highest level. Swedavia's other three airports are working to reach level 5 by 2026.
Swedavia is actively working to stimulate demand for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). An important initiative is the company's procurement of sustainable aviation fuel for its own business travel \u2013 a work that will continue this year. The procurement not only enables more sustainable travel within Swedavia, but also creates a platform for other companies and organizations to reduce their climate footprint.
