The Malta Tourism Authority welcomes the latest figures for inbound tourism for May 2025, published by the Malta National Statistics Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Total tourism consumption in May increased to over \u20ac363 million, a growth of 17% compared to May last year. This is fully in line with the MTA's strategy for more sustainable tourism and to attract a higher value segment to the archipelago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Average tourist expenditure per capita rose from 883 euros to 971 euros, which corresponds to an increase of just over 10%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the month of May, an estimated 374,297 tourists visited the Maltese islands, showing a growth of 6.31%3T. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tourism revenues during the first five months of the year totaled EUR 1.168 billion, an increase of EUR 210 million or 22%. At the same time, the number of guest nights increased by 14.7 %, while the average length of stay remained stable at just under six nights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the markets that have shown the best development are Ireland (+93%), Scandinavia (+16%), Switzerland (+9%), Poland (+48%), the United Kingdom (+21%) and the United States (+20%). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMalta\u2019s strong May results, coupled with the positive start to 2025, confirm the success of the 2021-2030 strategy leading towards Vision 2050.
